A favorite spot for locals and travelers alike
Kittery native Bob Kraft first opened Bob’s Clam Hut on an unused stretch of his parent’s backyard adjacent to the Spruce Creek clam flats in 1956. Long before busy Route One became bustling and busy with Kittery's outlet shops, Bob’s was the locals' golden fried standard: a clam (and lobster roll) lover’s Mecca.
We hear it from our guests: no trip to Maine is complete without a meal at Bob's Clam Hut. Come early (in summer to miss the throngs) and often to Bob’s original Kittery location, a right of passage for summer in Maine and New England. There’s something in the water at this place that keeps the food incredible, the staff uncontrollably happy and upbeat and the joy continuing to spread sinceGet Directions
Perhaps the thing we value most is having a happy and motivated staff. Our employees are some of the most talented, dedicated folks around. We respond with profit sharing, open financial reporting—everyone knows how we are doing financially—and most importantly, the whole staff is involved in making important decisions about how to keep Bob's great.
We currently have full-time openings for experienced line cooks and seasonal openings in both Hut and Service departments. Positions include working in our kitchen and helping in our dining room.
At Bob's, we offer our employees Health, Dental & Life Insurance, a 401(k) Retirement Plan, paid vacations and personal time, Education and Scholarship opportunities, company discounts, Free Meals, EAP Program, and other group benefits.
